Western North Regional Minister Poised for Development

The Western North Regional Minister Hon. Richard Ebbah Obeng is making a total provision for support in the region to boost the “youth start up initiative”.

Employment in the region keep increasing daily and more jobs are yet to come in too, he said “office of some government agencies such as Food and Drug Authority (FDA), Ghana Standards Authority among others will have their offices in the region and will be one of the major job opportunity for the beloved people of Western North Region. This is to boost the employment for the youth who are qualified for such offices.

On the part of 1D1F, the government has put in place measures to accomplish this wonderful vision, one of such is the newly rice factory commissioned recently at Akontombra, significantly a lot more applications has been filed for the government to support them in opening different factories in the region. He further said roads in the region are sympathetic and they are putting more efforts to complete what they have started. “Contractors are on roads and construction is in progress for both major and feeder roads, as well as town roads. Ghana contractors are not awarded contract because of lack of funds but gradually I have been personally involved in the payments of their raised certificates. Some of the roads under construction are the Yawmatwa road, Enchi-Elubo road and the Benchima-Osei Kojo-krom Road.

Speaking to Pollo Esposito on our morning show Day Break De-Beat FM (DBDB) he disclosed that, “One Child One Desk” project has gone to eight (8) Districts in the Western North region with Juaboso being the most recent one.
One Child, One school Desk initiative is his personal project the minister introduced after been appointed by the President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo as a Western North Regional Minister. The project has the endorsement from the paramount Chiefs and all the MDCEs in the region.







*Budget* 2022 was intended by the president to eliminate the hardship in the country which came about by the pandemic (covid-19). By this the government removed road tolls to replace rest-stop point at toll boots centers for hawkers who do their businesses unabated.
He further said the president has no intention to punish Ghanaians on Levy’s, for instance E-LEVY mentioned in the budget by Hon Ken Ofori Atta does not affect the less privileged who transfer small amount of money using mobile money in the country. It is only to help monitor and regulate business taxes in the country purposely for better living standard, he explained.
The Hon. Minister will make sure that taxes are paid properly through digitalization and also make sure that Ghanaians in the Western North region also benefit from the taxes.

In a nutshell, he concluded that the government has good and better initiatives ahead for our beloved country Ghana as Ghanaians can testify.
