Withdraw from CAF and FIFA competitions – Kofi Amoah tells GFA

President of the Normalisation Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah is calling for Ghana to withdraw from all CAF and FIFA Organised competitions in order to develop the structures of the game as the country has been wasting resources in those competitions.

The Black Stars in recent years have struggled to make an impact at international competitions with their worse performance recorded at the ongoing Afcon Tournament, exiting at the group stage with just a point.

With some connoisseurs of the game calling on the GFA to a appoint the right coach to handle the Black Stars, Kofi Amoah joins the other school of thoughts who believe the poor foundation Of Ghana Football form the basis for the Black Stars poor campaign at international Competitions.

“For Ghana football to really begin to work and to get back to where we used to be, we need to forget international games, we need to get out of CAF and FIFA for a certain period of time. When i was at the helm of the GFA then I realized that the enormous amount of money that the Ghana government spend on the national teams. It seems like we cannot walk and chew gum at the same time and then the amount of money that is required to do all the things I’m talking about. The millions of dollars that is spent to participate in the international tournaments should be used to reform internal football structures because we just go there to bring shame to ourselves” he told Starr Sports.
