Ghana Tech Lab advises youth to prioritize mentorship

The Business Development Associate at Ghana Tech Lab, Ibrahim Halidu, has said the youth cannot achieve success without the guidance of mentors.

According to him, mentors are highly experienced people with the expertise they need to develop themselves and their businesses.

He was speaking during a webinar organized by the Ghana Mentorship Network under the auspices of Ghana Tech Lab for Startups and trainees. The webinar was held to enable startups to understand the basics of mentorship.

‘‘Mentors have a great fountain of knowledge and I urge you to drink from it,’’ he said.

Mr. Halidu added that young people have dreams that need guidance and that mentorship is not only for business but academia as well.

He said that diverse people can be mentors to young people irrespective of where they find themselves.

The Business Development Associate called on participants to analyze who they are and the kind of mentor they need to develop themselves, their businesses and find them.

Briefing participants, Miss Baaba Simpson noted that mentorship is essential for startups to learn from entrepreneurs so, that they learn and develop their startups.

She stated that the initiative is laudable and that the mentorship network is available within the Ghana Tech Lab Network to support the development of startups and trainees.

‘‘Mentors know the diversity and best ways to assist businesses to grow and develop their potentials as entrepreneurs. I urge you to make use of the Ghana Mentorship Network website to access the mentors available for free to develop your potentials and startups,” she advised.
