Black Sherif and 3Music Awards made history, Periodt!

Organizers of the 3Music Awards show outdid themselves with an electrifying performance from Black Sherif. Yep, they made it rain inside the auditorium at AICC. And this is the first time any award scheme has gone to such great lengths to give patrons, audience and Ghanaian a show they will not forget anytime soon.

Discussing the work that went into pulling off such a feat on TV3 NewDay, Black Sherif disclosed the mastermind behind the whole show. He called the CEO of 3Music Awards a brilliant genius who worked tirelessly to give the best entertainment ever.

“Sadiq is so bright mman. So so bright. Though we didn’t get to a 10. But even if it’s a 6, I like the vision so much. Because it won’t stop here. This year we did this. Next year, much better. It will be nicer than this year. We made it happen. Everyone’s efforts. Because this is not for us, it’s Ghana to the world.”

Before the show, spokesperson Vida Boateng gave a detailed description of what Ghanaians should expect on Simply Showbiz with Akorfa. Rebranding the red carpet into the DripCarpet and the introduction of the Flavor Room, we didn’t see Black Sherif’s ‘rain’ performance coming.

“The pre-show will have four hosts. We will have a mini-concert with an outdoor audience. The Drip carpet is infused in the pre-show. We also have the Flavour room, an extension of the Drip carpet. Conversations go further than what we have on the Drip carpet. When you come to the Flavor Room, we have a few comedians who will also piece a few jokes here and there to make conversations flow. And then you get to enter the auditorium.

“I’m sure a lot of people are disappointed that the funfest didn’t happen before the actual show. What I have to say to them is that we have another plan. We are making it a celebration concert instead of just nominees jam the people are used to. We realized after last year that after performances and everything, people were yearning for more. So, we decided to twist it a
a little bit this year.”
