NABCo has no exit plan – UG lecturer

An Associate Professor at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebo Turkson, has noted that the government’s Nation Builders Corp (NABCo) programme is a good policy but does not have an exit plan where the beneficiaries will have permanent jobs after years of service to the nation.

According to him, the claim by the government of Ghana that the policy has an exit plan for the beneficiaries is false.

Speaking to the media after the stakeholders and dissemination workshop, Prof Turkson explained that the motive of the programme is to only give hope to the youth that their future is secured after school but it lacks an exit plan.

He stated that the government needs to create an opportunity that gives decent job opportunities for the growing working labour force.

Prof Turkson added that it is the responsibility of the government to make sure that some of these jobs meet the required standards.
