Akufo-Addo only created impression he cut cost by dissolving SDI Ministry – Ablakwa

North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzteo Ablakwa has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo only created the impression that he cut cost by dissolving the Ministry of Special Development Initiative (SDI) but in actual sense he did not.

He stated that President Akufo-Addo increased the budget of the SDI Secretariat at the President from GHS1million in 2020 to GHS358million in 2021.

In a tweet, he said “How President Akufo-Addo increased expenditure on compensation from less than GHS1million in 2020 to over GHS358million in 2021 for the Special Development Initiatives (SDI) Secretariat at the Presidency after he dissolved the SDI Ministry creating the impression he was cutting cost.”

The SDI Ministry was part of the the Ministries that were scrapped by President Akufo-Addo.

“The president is realigning these special-purpose ministries because they have all achieved the purposes for which they were created,” added the release.
