Ghana have qualified for the 2022 African Nations Championship quarter-finals following Madagascar’s impressive win over Sudan on Tuesday evening,
Black Galaxies defeated Sudan 3-1 last week to put themselves in a good position to qualify, but they still needed Madagascar’s help.
Ghana needed Madagascar to avoid a heavy defeat against Sudan to qualify, and the Barea exceeded expectations with a 3-0 win.
As a result, Madagascar secured qualification to the next round as group winners, with Ghana coming in second and Sudan exiting the tournament.
Following Morocco’s decision not to participate in the tournament due to diplomatic tensions with host Algeria, Madagascar, Ghana, and Sudan were each awarded three points and three goals.
