Producer Roro says Lumba’s song was not targeted at him or Ampong

Roro, one of Ghana’s most prominent and award-winning record producers who doubles as a sound engineer, has said on record that he doesn’t believe that Daddy Lumba’s latest song, Ofoo Na Odi Nsɛm Foo, was targeted at him or Great Ampong.

This revelation is in contrast to what Great Ampong had asserted previously on Happy FM with radio presenter Nyansa Boakwa on his opinion about Lumba’s latest song.

According to Ampong, an informant from Lumba’s camp told him a few years ago that Daddy was recording a diss song for him(Ampong) and Roro and that he had waited for a long time to hear it.

Speaking to Tony Best, the host of Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360, Roro said that a few lyrics in the song defeats the assertion that the song is directly targeted at either him or Great Ampong.

“I can’t say the song is targeted at us because one or two lines suggested that it is not in any way referring to us.

“Daddy said somewhere in the song that, Ɔne mpreko nnworo that he does not play with swine, and obviously we have played with him countless times, and Daddy Lumba is no swine himself. Daddy also said that hwɛ bɛrema anim asɛ n’akyi, meaning – take a look at a man whose face is like his back. And looking at Ampong and myself, obviously, we look so good and far from that description,” Roro said.

Answering the question of whether or not Great Ampong’s Nyame Akatua song qualifies as gospel, the renowned record producer replied in the affirmative.
