Ghanaian actress and author, Yvonne Nelson, has expressed her joy with the overwhelming response to her memoir, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.”
In an exclusive interview with Giovani Caleb on 3FM, Yvonne Nelson during her book signing event at Silverbird Cinemas, revealed that the demand for her memoir has exceeded expectations, leading to a shortage of available copies.
“The books are in short supply at the moment, it’s good Ghana is reading and I’m happy about that. I’m happy we are all reading,” she disclosed.
When asked about the potential for adapting her book into a movie, Yvonne Nelson shared that she does not envision herself taking on the role of producer for the project.
“ I don’t think I’ll be the one to produce it but I feel great that people are reading,” she indicated.
While she did not provide specific details, her response suggests that discussions or plans for a movie adaptation may be underway.
One of the key themes in Yvonne Nelson’s memoir is her strained relationship with her mother and the lingering questions about her father’s identity, however, she declined to speak about her mother’s response to the book and the revelations in there.
“I believe she’s also reading it and everyone else is reading so it’s a good thing,” she answered.
I am Not Yvonne Nelson,” which delves into her personal journey and sheds light on the realities of the celebrity world, currently holds the number one position on Apple’s Memoirs and Biographies chart.
