In a heartfelt tribute, Ghanaian music superstar, Sarkodie has reminisced about his enduring bond with his lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo, who passed away on June 21, 2023, at the age of 52.

Recognized as a prominent legal luminary, Quarcoo played a pivotal role in Ghana’s music and entertainment industry, representing renowned artists such as Sarkodie, Samini, Dagaati, and Reggie Rockstone.

Her untimely demise has left a significant void, not only in the legal profession but also in the hearts of those who admired her unwavering dedication and immense contributions.

According to ‘Obidi’ hitmaker, he knew that Cynthia Quarcoo was destined to be an integral part of his journey from the first time they met.

Pouring his out on Instagram stories, Sarkodie said Quarcoo displayed an uncanny understanding of his innermost ambition and their professional relationship quickly transformed into a deep and enduring friendship that stood the test of time.

  

“First time we met I knew you were supposed to be part of this journey. You knew everything about me, it almost felt like you were stalking me. I was moved and I said to myself that’s my lawyer!” From our first meeting, we’ve never been apart till date … So many memories it’s going to be real hard to get over this,” he posted.

He further revealed that Cynthia Quarcoo held a special place in his life as one of the few people he felt comfortable opening up to.

“One of the few people I open up to. Mama Cee!! At least you should’ve told me you aren’t feeling well but knowing you I know you hate us feeling bad for you. You left exactly how you wanted ( strong ) a classic Mama C,” he wrote.

In his tribute, Sarkodie recounted how he heard the news before expressing his gratitude for the time they shared and the lessons she imparted.

He posted, “This is going to be a very difficult one for all of us but I guess that’s the price to pay when you open up to love . It was unusual I hadn’t heard from you in these few days because knowing my mama Cee she will be the first person to text me worried then tease me … sent you a WhatsApp asking ” Mama C Na mentee wonka oo ©” but after several hours seeing two ticks I felt something was wrong then they broke the news to me. We know what you would love for all of us (to be strong ) we will try of us ( to be strong ) we will try Mama C! J. Condolences to the family and friends especially the children… let’s stay strong.”

Cynthia Quarcoo’s contributions to Ghana’s legal and entertainment sectors cannot be overstated.

Aside from her role as a trusted legal representative for some of the country’s most influential music icons, she also founded Africa 1 Media and Entertainment.

The organization focused on various industries, including the creative arts, entertainment, media, and sports.

Through her agency, she provided talent management, legal and business advisory services, as well as financial and investment guidance.
