Deputy Railway Development Minister, Kwaku Asante-Boateng, has expressed his discontent with the faction led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer contest.
He has, thus, thrown his express support behind flagbearer aspirant Alan Kyerematen.
Mr Asante-Boateng cited a lack of courtesy from certain members of Dr Bawumia’s camp during a campaign visit to constituencies in the Asante Akyem region, for his fury and decision to back the former minister of trade.

While recounting the campaign visit, the Deputy Minister revealed, “Upon Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s arrival in Asankare, my attempt at extending a hand in greeting was met with no response from any of his team members.”
The Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem South Constituency expressed his disappointment at the perceived exclusion by the Bawumia camp, indicating that he feels marginalised.
“It’s impossible to garner my support after such a disrespectful gesture during your campaign,” he asserted during a gathering in the Ashanti Region, adding that he would rather support Mr Kyerematen, a fraternal figure.
