Aston Villa secure long-term future of manager Unai Emery

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has extended his contract with the club for another five years after securing a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Emery joined Villa from Villarreal in October 2022 when the club was struggling in 17th place in the Premier League. Under his guidance, Villa climbed up the table and secured fourth place this season.

Emery, who previously managed Sevilla and Arsenal, has built a strong relationship with the players and fans alike. In his statement, he expressed his happiness to extend his stay at the club, citing the positive atmosphere and fan support as key factors.

Aston Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris also praised Emery’s impact on the team, stating that the club is “building something special” with him at the helm.

Villa, the 1982 European Cup champions, reached the semifinals of the Europa Conference League this season, marking their return to European football after a 13-year absence.

With Emery signing a long-term deal, Villa supporters can look forward to continued success in the coming seasons.
