Pwalugu dam: Minority vows to retrieve $12m paid to a contractor

The ranking member of the Energy Committee in Parliament, John Abdulai Jinapor says the Minority in Parliament will use every legal means to retrieve $12 million dollars sunk in the Pwalugu multipurpose dam.

Addressing the media at the Pwalugu dam site, the ranking member disclosed that his side would use every legal means to retrieve the cash since the project has been abandoned.

He further stated that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) will prosecute actors who have caused such a financial loss to the state.

“We will activate all the Parliament processes to retrieve that amount of almost 200,000 million Ghana cedis that have been dashed to this contractor.

“Somebody must be held liable, someone must be held accountable. 200,000 million Ghana cedis is not a small money. $12 million dollars can do a lot in this country,” Mr. Jinapor stated.

He continued: “So we will use every legitimate means, every legal means to retrieve the money and punish those who have caused this financial crime and financial loss to the state.”
