I know you can do the job if Ghanaians vote for you – Otumfuo tells Bawumia

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has expressed confidence in the ability of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to deliver if he is voted for to be president in this year’s elections.

The Asantehene asked Dr Bawumia to focus on selling his message to Ghanaians ahead of the elections.

The Asantehene who stated that he has known Dr Bawumia for a very long time observed that political power has not changed the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana as a humble person.

Speaking through his linguist when Dr Bawumia paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, June 12, the Asantehene said “I have known you, political power has not changed you, you are still humble, keep being humble. Continue to treat Ghanaians with respect and humility and explain to them what you want to do for them. I know you can do the job if Ghanaians vote for you.”

He added “President Akufo-Addo saw in you great potential  and that was why he chose you as his Vice President to help him, the government has done a lot and I know you do deliver, just propagate your messages to ghanains.”

Dr Bawumia started his tour of the Ashanti region on Monday June 9.

As part of the tour, he met traders at the Suame Magazine on Tuesday June 11.
“It was an electrifying experience on Tuesday as traders, artisans, the youth and the residents of the Ashanti Region massively reaffirmed their belief in my and the NPP’s vision for Ghana’s future.
“Ashanti Region has always been a pillar of strength and diverse opinions, and this was on full display as I interacted with artisans at Suame, traders at the Central market, engaged the citizenry at Asafo and strongly connected to the youth at the Jubilee Park.
Indeed, it is possible!” he wrote on his Facebook page.
