Wan-Bissaka joins West Ham from Manchester United

West Ham United have completed the signing of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for £15 million.

The 26-year-old has committed to a seven-year deal with the Hammers.

Wan-Bissaka becomes West Ham’s seventh signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Niclas Fullkrug, Max Kilman, and Guido Rodriguez.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Wan-Bissaka said, “It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham. I’m excited and happy to be here. I can’t wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there. I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each other’s backs through thick and thin. Being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”

Born in London, Wan-Bissaka is thrilled to return to his hometown, calling it an “amazing feeling.”

He previously moved to Manchester United from Crystal Palace in a £50 million transfer in 2019. Over his four-year tenure at Old Trafford, Wan-Bissaka made 190 appearances and scored two goals.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who signed him in 2019, he was the first-choice right-back. However, his role diminished following Erik ten Hag’s appointment in 2022, though he still featured 64 times in the past two seasons.
