Togbe Afede XIV commends Mahama on exoneration, urges national unity

The Overlord of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has praised former President John Dramani Mahama for his exoneration in the recent Airbus scandal, emphasising the need for Ghanaians to recommit themselves to the values enshrined in the national pledge.

Togbe Afede XIV’s remarks came during Mr. Mahama’s visit to his palace in Ho, as part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s National Campaign Tour in the Volta Region.

During the meeting, Togbe Afede XIV highlighted the importance of integrity and unity in harnessing the country’s resources for national development.

He stressed that by embracing these values, Ghanaians can overcome the challenges facing the nation and work towards a brighter future.

“We must remember the values of our national pledge—patriotism, loyalty, and service—and let them guide our actions. Only through such a commitment can we fully leverage the resources of our country for the benefit of all,” Togbe Afede XIV stated.

The Overlord also expressed optimism about the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economic policy, describing it as a potential game-changer that could revitalize Ghana’s struggling economy.

He expressed confidence that this initiative, if implemented, could provide the necessary impetus to drive growth and create opportunities for all Ghanaians.

Former President Mahama, in his address, reassured the people of Ho Central, particularly the youth, of his commitment to implementing policies aimed at job creation and combating corruption if elected in the upcoming December 7th elections.

He emphasised the need for a collective effort to address the pressing issues facing the country and called on the electorate to support his vision for a prosperous and corruption-free Ghana.

“We will work tirelessly to create jobs and fight corruption to ensure a better future for all Ghanaians,” Mahama affirmed.
