Akufo-Addo inaugurates phase 3 of Upper East Regional hospital project

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially inaugurated Phase 3 of the Upper East Regional Hospital rehabilitation project, marking a crucial step forward in enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region.

This milestone is part of the government’s broader initiative to improve healthcare delivery across Ghana and has been made possible through funding from the Saudi Fund for Development.

The third phase of the project includes the construction of several essential facilities designed to boost the hospital’s overall functionality.

Among these are a modern mortuary block, accommodation for doctors, a hostel for relatives of patients, and a medical gas building.

The project also features the installation of a comprehensive fence wall, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), and a laundry facility.

During the inauguration ceremony, Upper East Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih highlighted the significant impact the project will have on healthcare delivery in the region.

He emphasized that these new facilities will greatly enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve the community more effectively.

Representing the Saudi Fund for Development, Mohammed Al-Shammari, General Director of African Operations, expressed that the project is part of a broader aim to improve and provide universal healthcare access, ensuring that all individuals receive quality care regardless of their financial situation.
