Black Queens stars to watch this season

As the new season unfolds, several Black Queens players are expected to excel at their respective clubs.

These players, including Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, Freda Ayisi, Portia Boakye, and Priscilla Adubei, bring a wealth of experience and talent to the pitch.

1. Doris Boaduwaa (Hapoel Jerusalem)

After a successful spell in Europe, the 21-year-old Ghanaian international joins Hapoel Jerusalem on a two-year contract following her departure from Serbian side Spartak Subotica at the end of the 2023/24 season. Boaduwaa is expected to be pivotal for Hapoel in the Israeli Women’s Premier League given her recent experience in Europe with Subotica especially her performance in the Women’s Champions League.

2. Evelyn Badu (FC Fleury 91 Feminines)

Evelyn has signed a contract with FC Fleury 91 Feminines that will keep her in the French League until 2025.

The 2022 CAF Women Youth Player of the Year and the CAF Women Interclub Player of the Year will be hoping to get more matches under her belt to showcase her footballing abilities after just 6 appearances in the 2023/24 D1 Arkema.

3. Freda Ayisi (Charlton Athletic)

Freda already has it in her arsenal what it takes to win silverware after winning the FA Cup with Arsenal during the 2013/14 campaign.

The skilful midfielder joined Charlton in 2022 and extended the deal in 2023 following a successful campaign for the Addicks, registering four assists and two goals in the process. Freda is expected to be an integral part of the Karen Hills team in the upcoming season.

4. Portia Boakye (Hapoel Petah Tikva)

The Black Queens captain has completed a move from the Swedish League to the Israel League. The 35-year-old captain will be resenting Hapoel Petah Tikva after a long spell with Djurgården in the Swedish League. Despite her old age, Portia is expected to be a key part of her new home.

5. Priscilla Adubea (Trabzonspor)

The former Ampem Darkoa Ladies goal poacher, Priscilla Adubea is one the names to look forward to in the Turkish Women’s League. After some spells with Racing de Santander and Kiryat Gat Priscilla has made the big move to the Turkish League where she hopes to replicate her form in her stint with the Ampem Darkoa Ladies in Malta GUINNESS Women’s Premier League.
