The Running mate of the National Democratic Congress, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has announced that the NDC seeks to address the alarming drop-out rate of girls in school, particularly after primary six.

She stated that enrollment figures reveal a stable trend from primary one to three, but a significant decline occurs after primary six.

“We asked ourselves, why is this happening? And now we know why,” Prof Agyemang stated.

She stated that the policy includes provisions to ensure girls’ continued education such as free sanitary pads, aiming to promote hygiene and attendance.

“We made the bold step to ensure that girls can also go to school, stay in school, move up as high as they come, and realize their potential,” the spokesperson emphasized.

By tackling these barriers, the policy aims to increase girls’ participation and retention in education, fostering gender equality and empowering future generations.
