Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has responded to his main opponent Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s claim that the country needed an upgrade instead of a reset, arguing that a broken system cannot sustain an upgrade.
The NDC leader who was speaking at his party’s Professional Forum House-to-House Campaign offered a brief analogy in explaining his ‘reset’ message.
“I’ve said that this is a reset. Somebody says an upgrade. But how do you upgrade something that is broken? If the engine is faulty, how do you upgrade it? You need to reset the engine properly and put it in the shape where it can be upgraded,” he said to his audience.
Former President Mahama was of the view that if the country was going to progress, it didn’t just need only an economic reset but a holistic one that includes how government works.
“Our attitudes need a reset. People didn’t notice I added attitudes. You don’t upgrade attitudes,” he maintained. “You reset attitudes and correct them.”
