Adane Best Forgives Kuami Eugene Over Copyright Allegations

Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Adane Best, has revealed that he has forgiven fellow artiste Kuami Eugene, following previous allegations of copyright infringement.

Adane Best had earlier accused Kuami of borrowing melodies from his original works without proper credit.

In an interview on Asempa Showbiz Review, the ‘Wo Bre Na Wenya’ hitmaker acknowledged Kuami Eugene’s talent and success but encouraged him to continue learning and evolving in his musical career.

“I have said it before… Kuami Eugene is good, very, very good, and I commend him. But he should keep learning. That’s how it’s done. He doesn’t have to think he knows it all,” he stated.

Reflecting on their past issues, Adane Best reiterated his claim that some of Kuami Eugene’s songs were inspired by his earlier works but stressed that he no longer sees the need to dwell on the matter.

“If you know music, you can tell that most of the melodies he used were from my songs. I can prove it, but that’s not important now. It’s an old issue, and I don’t want to dwell on it,” he remarked.

The highlife legend also shared his decision to forgive Kuami Eugene, expressing that holding onto the issue would not benefit anyone.

“I have forgiven him. I have wronged others before, so when someone wrongs me, like Kuami Eugene, I let it go,” Adane Best concluded.
