In a shocking development, the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Assin central, Godfred Nti Anewu’s leadership and competency has been publicly sabotaged by their own Npp running mate, Napo.
This surprising move has raised questions about Anewu’s capability to continue representing the interests of the Assin Akropong and Assin Wurakese electoral areas.
During a recent address, Mathew Opoku Prempeh (Napo) expressed concerns about Anewu’s ability to fulfill the duties of a member of parliament effectively by lobbying for the construction of the Assin Akropong Wurakese road.
He stated emphatically that, he would have stopped Kennedy Agyapong from resigning as an MP if he had known that the Akropong Wurakese road had not been constructed. These comments have sent shockwaves through the party, as well as among voters who are now left wondering whether Anewu is the right person for the job.
These remarks by Napo clearly demonstrates that even the NPP and the executives in Assin Central have lost confidence in their parliamentary aspirant’s leadership. “If Anewu cannot maintain the trust of his own party, how can the voters trust him to handle the challenges we are face in the Constituency?”
This public rift highlights deep divisions within the Assin Central Npp constituency executives, casting doubt on Anewu’s capacity to effectively lead and serve the constituents.
Assin Central voters deserve someone who is competent, trusted, and focused on the needs of the people and not someone whose leadership is being openly questioned by their own team.
As we move closer to the election, the contrast between the stability and strong leadership offered by Nurein Migyimah Shaibu and the faltering confidence in Anewu becomes clearer. The people of Assin Akropong electoral area deserve a leader who will bring unity, clarity, and results, not internal division and doubt.
