Ama Governor, 8 others granted 70k bail each

The Criminal court 4 of the Accra High Court has granted 70,000 Ghana cedis bail each to 9 Democracy Hub protesters including 26-year-old lawyer, Elorm Ababio.

The others are: Seth Coffie, Vera Gloria Louis, Nii Quaye Hammond, Dela Quarshie, Manuel Barser Biney, Dorsese Joseph, Agbevi Mathias and Ernest Acheampong.

Each of the nine protesters was granted the bail two sureties.

The 9 are part of 54 protesters who were rounded up by the Police for participating in a demonstration against illegal mining, popularly referred to as Galamsey.

They are to deposit their Ghana cards and report weekly to the Police until the final determination of their case.
