Akufo Addo, Bawumia are liars who belong in hell fire – Kwaku Bonsam

Traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam is furious with President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo and his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for “poor governance” characterized by “lies and deception”.

According to him, the president and his vice will be “put into hell fire by God” on judgement day for their lackadaisical attitude towards the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, coupled with bad leadership that has brought untold hardships to Ghanaians.

The popular traditionalist made the pronouncements when the National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, paid a courtesy call on traditional leaders, clergymen, opinion leaders, etc., at Akumadan in Offinso North District, to convey the NDC’s campaign message.

During the engagement, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, affectionately called ‘the authentic man’, expressed grave disappointment over the Akufo Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s poor performance and dishonesty.

“The bible says if two men or women engage in sexual intercourse (homosexuality), they must be killed in public. Even we the traditional worshippers abhor same sex activities, why should you so-called Christians seek to encourage it,” he quizzed.

“I swear, as for Akufo Addo and Bawumia, they will go to hell fire at all cost when they die. Bawumia will also go to hell fire because the Koran prohibits Muslims from lying, but he tells lies too much.”

“When Bawumia attended the late DCE David Asare Boakye’s funeral, I humbly approached him with some developmental concerns in our district which he promised to deliver in no time. But 2 years down the line, he hasn’t fulfilled his promise nor offered any explanation on that and so I am highly disappointed in him for lying to me,” Kwaku Bonsam revealed.

Furthermore, the 2020 independent parliamentary candidate expressed optimism in the ability of former president John Dramani Mahama to transform the country when given a second chance, urging the Offinso North electorates, also, to vote massively for Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidate Ofosu Acheampong Ceasar for development and economic transformation.

Sammy Gyamfi who eloquently outlined the NDC’s policy proposals expressed satisfaction for the massive reception he received from the Chiefs and people of Offinso North, pledging his commitment to helping ensure the district got its fair share of development when the NDC won the 2024 general elections.

He said among several infrastructural development and social interventions, including a nursing training school, financial support for artisans and farmers alike, the area’s most wanted and much awaited tomato factory shall be delivered in the next NDC government.

“We will establish a brand new ultramodern tomato processing factory in Offinso North,” he assured.

The NDC National Communication Officer also disclosed the party’s intention to revive and strengthen the ADR system, aiming at restoring and re-empowering the chiefs and the traditional authorities to complement the judiciary in conflict resolution.

Sammy Gyamfi further explained the NDCs 24-hour economy programme, indicating the policy offered adequate employment opportunities for the youth with increased productivity and economic enhancement.

On behalf of all the chiefs and people in the area, Nana Kofi Aboagye III, Chief of Asempanaye, called on the leadership of both the opposition NDC and the ruling NPP to ensure peace was maintained before, during and after the election by controlling their teeming supporters against offensive utterances and violent acts.

The Asempanaye chief further admonished the NDC through the National Communication Officer to fulfil their promises made, should Ghanaians give them back the mandate to rule.

The chief again urged the next government to recognise and incorporate traditional rulers in national affairs thereby empowering the chieftaincy institution.

The function was overwhelmingly graced by various community chiefs, leadership of the local council of churches and the Muslim community led by Chief Imam, Alhaji Sualihu Said, leadership of tribal settlers across the district, youth groups, and supporters of the opposition NDC, amongst others.
