Ghana and Seychelles sign agreements to deepen bilateral ties

Ghana and Seychelles have signed two key agreements to bolster their bilateral relationship: a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Research, Training, and Skills Development.

The agreements were formalized during the official visit of the President of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, to Ghana.

According to a statement from Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, Chief Director of the Ministry of Transport, signed the BASA, while Mrs. Mamle D. Andrews, Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, signed the STEM-focused MoU on behalf of Ghana.

Mr. Conrad Mederic, Seychelles’ High Commissioner to Ethiopia, signed on behalf of Seychelles.

These agreements bring the total number of MoUs signed during President Ramkalawan’s visit to four.

Earlier, MoUs in Culture and Tourism Development were signed on November 21, 2024.

The initiatives aim to enhance cooperation between the two nations, particularly in aviation, education, culture, and tourism, strengthening their partnership across diverse sectors
