ACP Agordzo appointed Head of Human Resource at National Security Council

3News has sighted an internal memo dated January 21, 2025 announcing the appointment of former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr. Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo (RTD) as the Head of Human Resource at the National Security Council.

The memo signed by the Chief Director of the National Security and directed to all staff says Agordzo’s appointment takes immediate effect.

The Retired Police Officer brings extensive experience in human resource management and strategic leadership as well as security expertise making him a valuable asset to the National Security Council.

“We encourage all staff to extend their full support and cooperation to him as he embarks on this new journey with us,” the memo stated.
It can be recalled that ACP Dr. Agordzo together with eight others were charged on April 24, 2021 for conspiracy to commit high treason, abetment to high treason and high treason.

A three-member panel of judges of an Accra High Court on 24 January, 2024 discharged and acquitted Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Benjamin Agordzo, Colonel Samuel Kodzo Gameli and one other junior military officer, Corporal Seidu Abubakar.

However, six of the ten (10) alleged coup plotters were convicted on counts of conspiracy to commit high treason and committing high treason while one of the accused, Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, the Chief Executive Officer of Citadel Hospital died in the course of the trial.

Throughout the treason trial, Dr. Agordzo maintained his innocence insisting that he was not involved in any coup plot.
