Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has told Energy Minister John Jinapor that the people of Ghana do not expect prices of fuel and electricity to go up no matter the explanation they will provide.
“No matter the explanation Ghanaians don’t expect fuel or electricity prices to go up, the fuel is available at the pump and the lights don’t go off.
“We wish our brother well,” the former Minister of Works and Housing said during the debate in parliament on the approval of the ministers on Wednesday, January 22.
President John Dramani Mahama, during the swearing-in ceremony for the ministers, also told John Jinapor that Ghanaians expect nothing but a stable and efficient power supply.
“To you, John Jinapor, Ghanaians are looking for a stable and efficient power supply,” he said.
President Mahama told the Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, that Ghanaians are expecting him to stabilise the Cedi and bring down inflation.
Mr Mahama also told him that the people expect him to ensure that the public national debt is brought to sustainable levels.
